The Cordell Estate

Paul McClean's five-level glass-and-steel masterwork above the Sunset Strip—24,000 square feet conceived over fourteen years with Grammy-nominated producer Alex Da Kid, featuring eight integrated pools, a four-story digital art wall, a private nightclub, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views from downtown to the Pacific.

The pins reset with a satisfying crash, and you line up the second ball. It's eleven in the morning. You're bowling in your own two-lane alley, three stories below the Sunset Strip, and the absurdity of it makes you grin every time. This is what 9126 Cordell does to your schedule, it rearranges it. Because when the forty-person theater is next door, the glass-walled nightclub is down the hall, and the half basketball court is around the corner, the question isn't what should I do today—it's what do I feel like first. You take the glass elevator up, past the four-story digital art wall cycling through a new installation, through the waterfall light shaft that turns every transit into something cinematic. The main level opens into a double-height living room where rift oak, suede wall panels, and limestone meet walls of glass that disappear entirely into the pool terrace beyond. Paul McClean designed this house to erase the boundary between indoors and out, and here, staring past the two-way fireplace through 80 feet of turquoise water to the city below, it's impossible to say where one ends and the other begins. The kitchen, finished in light oak with marble accents, sits alongside a family room and dining space that feel both intimate and enormous, a trick that only Jeff Corney's refined natural palette can pull off. You eat lunch outside. Eight pools are distributed across the property's five levels, and by early afternoon you've found the wraparound interior pool, the one that lets you swim through the house like it was designed for it. Because it was. The evening starts on the mezzanine, in the primary suite that opens to a private two-person infinity pool, the city sprawling beneath you in layers of gold and shadow. You shower, change, and descend to the wellness floor, hemlock-wrapped, silent, precise. Cold plunge. Hot plunge. Sauna. Cryotherapy. Massage. You emerge an hour later feeling like a different person, which is the point. Dinner is upstairs, cooked in a kitchen designed for a professional chef, served in a room where the light changes with the hour. Later, you ride to the rooftop terrace. The retractable movie screen descends. The spa warms. The city is infinite and electric and entirely yours. Fourteen years to build. One night to understand why.
